Testing Doctrines

Edited to reflect what I have learned: April 29, 2015.

All the Bible based religions today are rooted in the Hebrew and Jewish cultures. Therefore, it make sense to trace back our faith to the Hebrew roots.

The Bible is originally written in the Ancient Hebrew -- Paleo-Hebrew, and I believe a few parts were written in Aramaic -- some parts of Daniel and Ezra, as I have learnt, though this might changed. Then it was translated into Greek, and with it also mingled the Greek mythical mindset. And from Greek it was translated into Roman Latin, and from Latin and from Greek into the English language and then to our languages today.

Most of the writers are Hebrews. And probably only one is not -- King Nebuchadnezzar who wrote a chapter of the book of Daniel in Aramaic Therefore, the original manuscripts (the inspired books) were written in Hebrew, most probably in Paleo-Hebrew -- the Ancient Hebrew.

Please note: Bible Translators and Scholars are not Divinely Inspired Writers of the Bible. They are commissioned by men. Yet we believe that the Ruach HaQodesh have guided them according to the prevailing cultures and understanding of the revelations of their day. According to the Father's will to be revealed at their day.

Some scholars believed the New Covenant was written in Hebrew or Aramaic, and some believed it was written in Greek.

With the aid of technology coupled with the stock of archaeological finds, and the latest finds we can in no time find out which is which.

I do believe, the message, in speech, was both carried in parallel with the Hebrew language and the prevailing language of the day. It is what we do today with our mother tongue and English, and it make sense to doing it at any time in history.

But we do not speak these languages (Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek and Latin) today, so we Have to rely on the works of the faithful scholars before us to translate for us.

Remember: How To Build Stable Data -- a data cannot be Stable Data until the whole concept of the said data is fully cleared, personally, firsthand. If not, then it can only be trustworthy data, and still subject to further verification.

For this reason, we can not really clear the whole concept of certain data. Unless the Ruach YHWH move in us to clear the concept personally, firsthand.

We are dealing with translation to local languages and English. It can happen at times that translations do not carry the full meaning of the concept.

For this reason, some of the data we cleared cannot become Stable Data, instead workable facts or true facts or proven facts.

But it can be fun with models.

Concepts can have many allusions. One must clear all these allusions as necessary. A concept is cleared when it is demonstrated that it is true, accurate, or justified, personally, firsthand.

This is one reason I use many different versions of the Bible, with special leaning towards the Hebrew roots, because I believe they have better understanding of the Hebrew idioms and idiomatic expressions thereby have better interpretations and translations.

Another reason I used other Bible versions aside from the King James Version Bible is to dispel preconceived ideas and subliminal messages already planted by the adversary from the previous teachers and teachings and doctrines.

And therefore, I used several Hebrew Roots Versions of the Bible along side the King James Version Bible (KJV).

One, however, can be very "dogmatic" about using only the KJV Bible for several unfounded reasons. Just a "simple *false* belief" planted by the adversary. This is an example of a "dogma" -- I defined as unfounded belief.

In this blog, however, one will find the verses tagged in KJV, while any of the Hebrew Roots versions are quoted here. This way, the preconceived ideas and subliminal messages are dispeled. And one will gain a new perspective and comparison with the KJV and to see the differences if indeed there is.

And in some cases there are differences. And this should make one aware.

The Bible is unique because its message can only be understood by certain people. These are people who have already found some truths in it. These are people who have heard the Word and believed. These are people who are now searching the other Bible truths they have not found yet. That includes me.

Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
(1Co 2:6 RNKJV)

But we speak the wisdom of YHWH in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which YHWH ordained before the world unto our glory:
(1Co 2:7 RNKJV)

Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the King of glory.
(1Co 2:8 RNKJV)

To The Torah

To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
(Isa 8:20 RNKJV)

To the torah (teaching of YHWH) and to the te'udah (recorded testimony, see Isa 8:16); if they speak not according to Davar HaZeh, it is because there is no shachar (dawn, light) in them.
(Isa 8:20 OJB)

To the Torah and to the witness! If they do not speak according to this Word, it is because they have no daybreak1.
Footnote: 1Or light
(Isa 8:20 The Scriptures 1998+)

For it is: command upon command, command upon command, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.
(Isa 28:10 The Scriptures 1998+)

But the Word of יהוה was to them, “Command upon command, command upon command, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little,” so that they go and shall stumble backward, and be broken and snared and taken captive.
(Isa 28:13 The Scriptures 1998+)

The Torah and the testimony is our Standard for testing all doctrines.

NOTE: Torah is often times translated as Law in the Bible. Torah is "Instructions or Teachings", found in the five books of Moses.

Reading passages with the correct translations also reveals the intended meaning. So now, when you find "Law" in the Bible it should have been "Instructions" or "Teachings" or "Torah" or the five books of Moses.

Please also see:

By applying the principles in How To Build Stable Data and the principles taught in the Bible about testing doctrines. We should arrived at the closest approximation of the truth if not the absolute truth. And form our "Proven Facts" and "Stable Data".

There is our standard "the Torah and the Testimony".  Any doctrines of the Bible that do not speak according to this Word, it is because they are in the darkness. Torah = Daybreak or Light = Truth.

For the command is a lamp, And the Torah a light1, And reproofs of discipline a way of life,
Footnote: 1 Ps. 119:105.
(Pr 6:23 The Scriptures 1998+)

Your righteousness is righteousness forever, And Your Torah is truth.
(Psa 119:142 The Scriptures 1998+)

The Torah of YHWH is perfect, bringing back the being; The witness of YHWH is trustworthy, making wise the simple;
(Psa 19:7 The Scriptures 1998+)

Your word1 is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
Footnote: 1Torah
(Psa 119:105 The Scriptures 1998+)

NOTE: Any facts presented to me outside of the Bible, if it does not conflict with what the Torah and its witness teaches then it is OK with me. They become workable facts to me and I can use them safely.

But if they do not agree to the Torah and the testimony then I cannot take it as a workable fact and therefore it is not applicable to me and I will not use it. I am this confident because the Bible has become my Stable Data.

And most specially the "Torah" -- the "Word of YHWH" which also became flesh and dwelt among us as the "Living, Walking Torah".

For me: Any data (even doctrines) given to me even if it slightly disagrees, it is already a suspect. It is truth and untruth in the mixed.

For example: Medical Science has stated a well known fact about legumes or purine-rich vegetables being the culprit to increase uric acidity in man's body. Now in verifying it in the Torah, it does not agree.

And Elohim said, “See, I have given you every plant that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed, to you it is for food.
(Gen 1:29 The Scriptures 1998+)

So, I cannot take it as truthful. But for people who are not grounded in Absolute Truth, they will take it as a fact and will listen and believe it to be true. Even justifying it by saying, "just taking precautions".

I know people who say they believe in the Bible but also believed on this untruth.

Why?

Because the Bible is not yet a Stable Data to them. And they are carried away by a position of authority. Remember, a fact -- in this case the Bible -- can only be a Stable Data after it is cleared, personally, firsthand.

Alas, I stumbled upon this study [here's the transcript] "A recent study looked at the link between nutrition and gout and dispels some old assumptions." ~ NOTE: You may have to click on the little link that says "show" on the upper right side corner of your browser.

**Hyon Choi: Specifically the study showed the consumption of meat, particularly red meat, significantly increased the risk of gout, and that consumption of all types of seafood that we investigated tended to carry an even higher risk.

Notably, no increased risk was seen with the consumption of purine-rich vegetables, which include peas, beans, mushrooms, cauliflower and spinach, and again, no association with the overall protein intake.

The study found a protective effect from vegetable and dairy proteins. Further, the report discovered that increased consumption of low-fat dairy products strongly reduced the risk of gout.**

Albert Barnes' Notes on the Bible:

To the law ... - To the revelation which [Elohim] has given. This is a solemn call of the prophet to try everything by the revealed will of [Elohim]; see Isa 8:16.

If they speak not - If the necromancers - those that pretended to have contact with the dead.

According to this word - According to what [Elohim] has revealed. By this standard all their pretended revelations were to be tried. By this standard all doctrines are still to be tried.

It is because - There has been a great variety of criticism upon this verse, but our translation expresses, probably, the true idea. The word rendered here ‘because,’ אשׁר 'ăsher, commonly denotes ‘which;’ but it seems here to be used in the sense of the Syriac? “Dolath,” or the Greek ὅτι hoti.

No light - Margin, ‘Morning.’ Hebrew שׁחר shāchar.

The word usually means the morning light; the mingled light and darkness of the aurora; daybreak.

It is an emblem of advancing knowledge, and perhaps, also, of prosperity or happiness after calamity, as the break of day succeeds the dark night.

The meaning here may be, ‘If their teachings do not accord with the law[Torah] and the testimony, it is proof that they are totally ignorant, without even the twilight of true knowledge; that it is total darkness with them.’

To The Testimony/Witness

To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
(Isa 8:20 RNKJV)

To the torah (teaching of YHWH) and to the te'udah (recorded testimony, see Isa 8:16); if they speak not according to Davar HaZeh, it is because there is no shachar (dawn, light) in them.
(Isa 8:20 OJB)

To the Torah and to the witness! If they do not speak according to this Word, it is because they have no daybreak1.
Footnote: 1Or light

Treasury Of Scriptural Knowledge:

"the testimony:"  Isa 8:20; Deut 4:45; 2Ki 11:12; Jn 3:32-33; Heb 3:5; 1Jn 5:9-12; Rev 19:10

Albert Barnes' Notes on the Bible:

"Any message from [YHWH] is, however, sometimes called a witness/testimony, as being that to which a prophet bears witness;" Psa 19:7; Deut 4:45; Deut 6:17, Deut 6:20; 1Ki 2:3; Neh 9:34.

The Biblical Illustrator:

"(3) Whenever the written Word has been laid aside, everything has gone astray; and whenever a reformation has taken place, all has been restored in accordance with the written Word (2Ki 22:8; 2Ki 23:2; 2Ki 23:21).

Take yet another instance—the re-establishment of the worship of [Elohim] after the rebuilding of the temple. By perusing the Books of Ezra and Nehemiah you will find that everything was done in accordance, not with any tradition preserved among them, but with the written Word."

The Testimony of Yahushua:

Testimony here is also referring to the testimony of Yahushua which He gave to John and also of what He fulfilled (fully preached) -- Mat 5:17,18 Lk 16:17.  Yahushua is the Living Torah (Living Word).

The Revelation of Yahushua the Messiah, which YHWH gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
(Rev 1:1 RNKJV)

And I fell before his feet to worship him, but he said to me, Behold! Stop! I am a fellow-slave of yours, and of your brothers, having the testimony of Yahushua. Worship YHWH. For the testimony of Yahushua is the spirit of prophecy.
(Rev 19:10 HRB)

Beresheeth (the beginning) was the Miltha the Living Torah, and the Living Torah was with YHWH, and the Living Torah was YHWH.
(Jn 1:1 RSTNE)

The same was in the beginning with YHWH.
(Jn 1:2 RSTNE)

All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made.
(Jn 1:3 RSTNE)

RSTNE Commentary:

"Aramaic word is miltha, meaning force, emanation, power, substance and Torah/Word. It is a unique word, to apply a unique term to the many manifestations of YHWH. Unlike the Hebrew avar, or Greek logos, or the Aramaic memra, miltha has no direct equivalent term in any other language including Hebrew. It is a female noun surrounded by two male verbs. This displays the fact that the Creator has dual characteristics of both male and female. This is more proof of the Aramaic primacy of the Renewed Covenant."

Testimony therefore IS:

  • The "Word of YHWH" -- His Commandments, Judgments, Statues and Instructions (The Torah; Which also became flesh and dwelt among men);

  • The Spirit of Prophecy -- the prophecies of the prophets, the revelation of Yahushua the Messiah;

  • Testimony of Yahushua -- the Messianic prophecies that have been fulfilled in Yahushua the Messiah including what He fully preached.

Now remember, false prophets are raised to deceive many so that a great rebellion (Torah-less-ness or Lawlessness) will come. That rebellion is basically the result of the belief in the twisted truth.

This "great rebellion" also translated as the "falling away" has already happened, and it is getting worst each year. We are told that "If they do not speak according to this Word" -- "The Torah and to the Testimony!" "it is because there is no light to them!".

"No light to them" -- means -- "it is proof that they are totally ignorant, without even the twilight of true knowledge; that it is total darkness with them." ~ Albert Barnes' Notes on the Bible.

You might ask: What is Torah-less-ness or Lawlessness?

For whoever shall guard all the Torah, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.
(Jas 2:10 The Scriptures 1998+)

The Torah and the Testimony is the Standard by which we will know if the message is trustworthy.
