The fig tree (Mat 21:18,19,21, 24:32-35) speaks of the land of Israel (Hosea 9:10, Jer 24:5).
I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw your fathers as the first-fruit in the fig tree at her first time. They came to Baal-Peor and set themselves apart to a shameful thing. And they became hateful like that which they loved.

Yahushua was looking for the lost sheep of Israel, of whom the Jews call the "gentiles". Meaning, the people of Israel who have gone into the nations and adulterated the instructions or teachings (Torah) of YHWH, with that of the pagan nations' teachings. The Jews calls them the Gentiles, as a slang in their day.
But Yahushua did not use the word "gentiles", but instead the phrase "lost sheep of Israel". And later His disciples would use this word, "gentiles", to mean all the nations outside of Judah, Israel in our day, to mean differently now, to include All the nations of the world, who believe on the saving power of the blood of the Lamb of YHWH, Yahushua HaMashiack (the Messiah), from sin.
So, remember, the gentiles are the lost sheep of Israel, according to the Jews, as a slang word, in those days, and later, it means, All the nations that believe on Yahushua Messiah, as being preached by His disciples and followers.
Yahushua did not find faith (the specific fig fruit) from Israel as a Nation (the fig tree) in Him as the Messiah, they were waiting to come.

And Yahushua prophesied to it, to Israel as a Nation (Mark 11:13, Mat 21:19,20), and it withered away (dried up).
And He saw a certain fig tree from afar that had leaves on it. And He came towards it to see if he could find anything on it. And when He arrived, He did not find anything on it except leaves. For the time of figs had not yet arrived.

This prophecy was fulfilled on the year 70AD when the temple of Jerusalem was destroyed.
And answering, Yahshua said to them, Truly I say to you, If you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do the miracle of the fig tree, but even if you should say to this mountain, Be taken up and thrown into the sea, it will be so.

The mountain here also represents the kingdom of YHWH, the stone in Daniel 2:35 that became a great mountain.
The stone also represents the Torah (Exo 24:12, 1Pe 2:8), the "Word of YHWH" and also YHWH (Deut 32:4, Psa 18:31,46) and which the Assembly of Yahushua is built (Mat 16:18), and the Living Torah that struck on the feet of iron and clay, that became a great mountain, the Kingdom of YHWH (Dan 2:35).
And יהוה said to Mosheh, “Come up to Me on the mountain and be there, while I give you tablets of stone, and the Torah and the command which I have written, to teach them.”

Now back to the fig tree, and Israel as a Nation.
Fig trees normally bear fruit twice a year, in June and in September, and a unique aspect of the plant is that it bears fruit before its leaves appear after winter. --

See here, Israel as a Nation, was established in May 1948. And it says, that when you see "its branch becomes tender and puts out leaves" you know it had fruits already.
And these fruits are peoples that followed the Torah -- the "Word of YHWH", that became flesh in Yahushua HaMashiack, that will strike and pulverize these kingdoms of the world as a rock cut-out without human hands, and will become a great mountain. (Dan 2:34,35)
so also you, when you see all these things, know that it is near at the doors.

And now, that we can see the Nation of Israel in the middle east, and we can also see the peoples in all the nations of the world following the Torah of YHWH.
Then, We know that the rock cut-out without hands is near and about to strike the kingdoms of these world, that will pulverize them into chaff that the wind can carry away, and there shall be no trace of them to be found. (Dan 2:34,35)

And the generations that was born with this fig tree, the Nation of Israel, is also known as the "babyboomers". The generations born after WW2; from 1944,45 to 1964,65. This is the generation Yahushua is talking about here in Matthew 24:34.
Over 1 billion babies were born worldwide, 77.3 million in america. They are called boomers, because they are the trend-setters. Just by following what these people wants and needs creates an economic boom.

This generation is where we are at today in this prophecy, and this generation is aging already. And it says here, that "all this takes place" in this generation.
The heaven and the earth will pass away, but My Words will not pass away, never!

The next generation is called "generation x and y". Also known as the generation of "lawlessness".
And Matthew 24:22 says, in our day's context would be that if these days, the days of the "babyboomers generation" is not shortened, no one would be saved.
Please note: the youngest of the babyboomers today would be 49 years old already. The oldest would be 67/68 years old.

And also notice here, our days are already shortened. Perhaps this is not what the Scriptures meant yet. But can it be?

The sun has not set at noon day yet. Might this be what "shortened of days" means?
“And it shall be in that day,” declares the Master יהוה, “that I shall cause the sun to go down at noon, and shall darken the earth on a day of brightness,

And Revelation 8:12 yet to be fulfilled. Although some interpretation of this have it fulfilled already.
And the fourth messenger sounded, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. And a third of the day did not shine, and likewise the night.

The "chosen ones" here are those who follow the Torah of YHWH and believed on the saving power of the blood of the Lamb of YHWH, Yahushua HaMashiack (the Messiah). Who saved mankind from sin.
And Please note: if the "generation x and y" is the generation of "lawlessness", also called the "falling away" (2Th 2:3). Then the "chosen ones" are mostly in the "babyboomers" generation and are getting old already in our day and will be gone in a decade or two. Maybe even less. And if these days are not shortened, "no flesh would be saved".
Well, that does not look like "shortened" to me at all. Does it to you?
My thoughts was led to This phrase "no flesh would be saved" to mean, the truths that the chosen ones of the babyboomers generation shall now be buried by the generation x and y when the babyboomers are gone.
How?
An example is the calendar. The adversary has instituted several calendar throughout time and over generations. Today, the Biblical Calendar is already sufficiently confused.
By a simple change of the marker -- from the New Moon, the marker for the New Month, and the beginning of the week was changed to Sunday as the first day of the week Marker.
And then by simply bringing up a non-issue to become an issue for the later generations to come, in order to bury the real issue, the truth.
And this non-issue was the supposed change of the Sabbath to Sunday. Instead of from the New Moon to Sunday being the marker of the first day of the week.
Then The Appointed Times Of YHWH are buried deep in centuries of time and toppled with several layer of generations in time.
In our day, these truths have been uncovered by a few who have diligently digged and found out these truths have been buried in time by generations through generations and only a trickle came up. And the last of these would sufficiently be gone with the disappearance of the last of the babyboomers.
Time as ally, is what the devil is capitalizing on, and his work in our day has been intensified with "hollowood". And supported with movements such as the New Age Movement (which is actually the new name for the old occult, witchcraft, satanic practice of old, in Egypt and Canaan).
Please note, it is important to understand the terminology use here. The "generation x and y" as the generation of "lawlessness" does not mean that all are "lawless". It is a generalization. Like the phrase "the Jews rejected their Messiah" does not mean All the Jews did. There is always a few, called the "remnant" that Father has preserved.
But, the last witnesses to the absolute truths, among the "babyboomers" generation, will be gone and this "generation x and y" is the generation that shall cover them and shall bury them sufficiently.
Which means that after these generations, the babyboomers, the x and y, the next generations would no longer be able to find the true appointed times of YHWH.
Another thing the devil is working on, is proliferating a false message, through subliminal delivery, through movies and music videos, the message of the new heaven and earth, is possible on the generations after the x and y, after All truths are sufficiently buried in time by these last generations through deception.
The real issues, the truths, are no longer talked about.
Watch the Zeitgeist movie again. For this is their summation of their grandiose plan, Zeitgeist call "The Venus Project". Please note: Venus, the morning star, which the Latin Vulgate -- the pope's official translation of the Bible -- calls as Lucifer. So, the "Venus Project" is really just another name for "The Lucifer Project".
Which is also actually, the New Age Movement which is actually not new.
Now, if one views everything around through the lens of the Zeitgeist movie, one should get a grasp of what goes around.
But the wisdom is found in the family unit, that, where there is deception involved in the family circle, it will crumble and fall. This wisdom can also be seen in the movies subliminally. What the devil is doing is basically dividing the peoples with different messages, all are mixed. A jumble of truth and untruth.
So that peoples will collectively become weary, and fall to apathy. A state of collective apathy means, peoples no longer would care whether there is truths or untruths, it no longer matters.
But before that happens, the subliminal messages tells us to eradicate all forms of religion, and to do that, one must believe in evolution and become an atheist. Then chaos ensues, Muslims against one another and against all religions, fanatic "dogmatic" Christians against other Christians and religions, and the like.
The state of condition falls from antagonism, then anger and then rage, which we are now seeing today, the next state is fear, and then grief. This we see partially in the aftermath of the super typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
And after the condition of grief is the condition of apathy. This is the condition the devil wants the peoples to be in. This condition can now be observed also in the Haiyan victims. These are the peoples who now do not care after the relief goods.
This is already the predominant condition of the generation x and y, however they can still dig for the truths and shall find them. The next generation after these will solely be in a state of apathy towards truth. No longer cares about truths or untruths.
Remember, deception is the name of the game. And the Time (through generation by generation) IS its Ally.
