The "Comforter"

Let us dig into "rightly dividing" of the words "spirit" and "comforter" in the Bible.

And Yahushua will ask the Father, and He will give us another "Helper"G3875,

(John 14:16 The Scriptures 1998+)  “And I shall ask the Father, and He shall give you another HelperG3875, to stay with you forever –

Please, whisper a prayer and ask the Father in the name of Yahushua Messiah, for understanding on this subject. Ahmein!!!

The Word "Spirit" In Review

I have already written a study about "The *Spirit* In The Bible", so we will just have a brief review here of the "spirit" in the Bible. Please go back and refer to it quickly if you spot a "Barrier To Learning".

Please note the "Comforter" or "Helper" in the Bible is also known as the "Spirit of Truth".

The word "spirit" is a word translated from the Hebrew word "ruach"H7307 or the Greek word "pneuma"G4151.

Which literally means "wind", "breath", "air", "breeze" and more specifically "a forceful blast".

In some respect it shares characteristics with the "breath" which animates mankind. The Hebrew word is "neshâmâh"H5397 which is also translated in English as "breath".

Now here is the difference, and please NOTE this significant difference, this man's breath is "puffed", "emitted", or "released" from the source, or the giver; it is released from the Father, who is the giver.

Whereas the "ruach" is not released from the source. It is not released from the Father.

Which is why the commentary in Strong's Dictionary in Hebrew states that "spirit" is used only "of *a rational being*"; and in Greek it states "by analogy".

So in this case the "Spirit" spoken of in the Bible literally means "OF" YHWH or "OF the" Father. To expound it further, The "Spirit" literally means a "forceful blast of wind OF" the Father. So, let it be noted therefore, that any instances of the proper word "Spirit" in our Bibles IS "OF" YHWH or "OF" the Father.

Therefore, the improper word "spirit" or the proper word "Spirit" SHOULD ALWAYS BE NOTED With the qualifier "OF" *A RATIONAL BEING*. Otherwise ONE IS teaching lies and is deceitful or untruthful.

Now also Please note, one must clear these words personally, firsthand. And make it Stable Datum.

And do that, if you have not done so yet, Please see and review the following:

Note, By "rightly dividing" the "word" "spirit" or "ruach"H7307 and "breath" or "neshâmâh"H5397 we learned that the word "spirit" is not a being, and its use is "of a rational being", and this being is "OF" the Father.

Therefore, any doctrine that teaches otherwise is proven false. And IF one is already grounded on the Absolute Truth, no amount of metaphors, analogies, and whatever demonstrations to explain the mystery of the "spirit". Which by "rightly dividing" the "word" "spirit" itself, IS REALLY NO MYSTERY AT ALL.

Please see the following:

Sidenote:

In todays terminology, I propose the words "energy" and/or "force" to be much more accurate translation than the word "spirit". Because no one has ever seen the Father. And no one has ever claimed to have seen the "wind", "air", "breeze", "breath", "energy", or "force". Because many have already claimed to have seen a "spirit". But I will use these words discretely, if I have to, but qualify them properly.

So the word "spirit" is really not an accurate translation.

The "Comforter"

Now to the study of the word "Comforter"; Allow me to use the Hebrew word "Ruach" (for the English word "Spirit") and "Ruach HaKodesh" (for the "Holy Spirit") if you will. This way is to dispel the pre-conceived meanings and subliminal messages already attached with the words "Spirit" (the proper) and "spirit" (the improper) and the words "Holy Spirit".

Except for the quotations I quote from the Bibles I will leave as is. And trust that you will follow through with the intended thought.

And I also prefer to use -- "Ruach YHWH" which is rendered in our English Bibles as "Spirit of the *LORD*" mostly in the "Old Testament" and "Spirit of *God*" mostly in the "New Testament".

ALSO NOTE The words "*LORD*" and "*God*" conveniently cover "The Name" of *YHWH*, the true Living Elohim. HalleluYah!!! Praise His Name!!!

Today, "The Names" are also being revealed that the assembly of Yahushua may be able to proclaim them. And untruth is further exposed. So please, clear "The Names" as well that it may become Stable Datum as well, for you. This will also lead you into other truths.

Now Please note the word "another" in John 14:16 -- "I shall ask the Father to send you "another" "Comforter" or "Helper".

Origin

Middle English: as an other until the 16th cent.

From the definition of the English word *another*, above, this means that the *another* "Helper" is literally *another* "Ruach HaKodesh" of the Father. Which is also known as the "Ruach of Truth" (Jn 14:17).

But this one is "in the name of Yahushua" which is also called "Comforter" or "Helper" in some Bible versions. Translated from the Greek word "parakletos"G3875. And its assignment is "to teach us and remind us of all that Yahushua has said". (John 14:26) Now please hold this thought for now.

Please note, we are just "rightly dividing" or clearing the words here. We have not added any meaning to these words.

(John 14:26 The Scriptures 1998+)  “But the Helper, the Set-apart Spirit, whom the Father shall send in My Name, He shall teach you all, and remind you of all that I said to you.

Do you now see TWO "Ruach Hakodesh" here?

One is the "other" "Ruach Hakodesh", and the other one is the "another" "Ruach Hakodesh", called "Comforter" or "Helper" also known as the "Ruach of Truth".

Both of these "Ruach Hakodesh" are "OF" the Father, meaning -- they are not "puffed", nor "emitted", nor "released". But the second one is "in the name of Yahushua", specifically called the "Comforter" or "Helper" in the English language translated from the Greek word "parakletos"G3875.

As anyone can see here we have just "rightly divided the words spirit and comforter" of the Bible literally. Because the passages we are examining these from do not announced that these are in parables or in symbols.

So the words "spirit" and "comforter" or "helper" and "another" are not announced as a parable or in symbols. Therefore, we have "rightly divided them" literally, as they are intended to mean by the writers.

The Advocate

The Greek word "Parakletos"G3875 is translated "Comforter" in KJV or "Helper" in some versions (John 14:16).

Is the same Greek word "Parakletos"G3875 which is translated "Advocate" in 1 John 2:1.

(1Jn 2:1 The Scriptures 1998+)  My little children, I write this to you, so that you do not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Intercessor with the Father, יהושע Messiah, a righteous One.

Therefore, the one who is the "Comforter" is the same one who is our "Advocate" who promised "I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world" (Matt. 28:20)

And is the same one who offers to live in our hearts, saying "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock" (Rev. 3:20).

And Yahushua said: “I shall not leave you orphans – I am coming to you. (John 14:18 The Scriptures 1998+)

Therefore, the "another" "Comforter", or the "Helper" also known as the "Ruach of Truth" is actually Yahushua Messiah, in the "Ruach" of the Father, just like the "other" "Ruach HaKodesh" of the Father who "sanctifies" us.

Yahushua said that on that day we receive the "Helper" we will know that He is IN the Father, and we are one with them.

(John 14:20 The Scriptures 1998+)  “In that day you shall know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.
(John 14:28 The Scriptures 1998+)  “You heard that I said to you, ‘I am going away and I am coming to you.’ If you did love Me, you would have rejoiced that I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.
(John 14:29 The Scriptures 1998+)  “And now I have told you before it takes place, that when it does take place, you shall believe.

Now, here is Yahushua Messiah, confirming what we have just found out earlier, that there are TWO Ruach HaKodesh OF the Father, who shall dwell IN us, IF we love Him and guard His Word:

(John 14:23 The Scriptures 1998+)  יהושע answered him, “If anyone loves Me, he shall guard My Word. And My Father shall love him, and We shall come to him and make Our stay with him.

Here are the two "Ruach HaKodesh" OF the Father, the other is in the name of Yahushua, and They would dwell in us IF we love Yahushua and guard His Word. Remember His Words are Words from the Father. Which is also known as "Moses' Seat" or the Torah of Moses. For He is the Living Word or the Living Torah.

(John 14:21 The Scriptures 1998+)  “He who possesses My commands and guards them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I shall love him and manifest Myself to him.”

The Glory Of The Father

In this passage Yahushua had to be first glorified or "to be more elevated" by the Father. This is why He said the Helper cannot come unless He go away. (John 16:7)

(John 16:7 The Scriptures 1998+)  “But I say the truth to you. It is better for you that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper shall not come to you at all, but if I go, I shall send Him to you.

The Helper was not yet given because Yahushua was not yet "doxazō"G1382 translated in KJV as "glorified" which means literally "esteemed" or in other words "more elevated".

Let us clear the English word "glorified" from the root word "glory". Please see below. The definition says: "represented in such a way as to appear more elevated or special." I believe the best single word to describe is "elevated", or "more elevated".

glo·ri·fied
ˈglôrəˌfīd/adjectiveadjective: glorified1. (esp. of something or someone ordinary or unexceptional) represented in such a way as to appear more elevated or special.
"I did the paperwork and was basically a glorified secretary"
2. (in religious contexts) made glorious.
"the transformed and glorified Jesus"

glo·ri·fy

"a football video glorifying violence"

antonyms:dishonor
Origin

Middle English: from Old French glorifier, from ecclesiastical Latin glorificare, from late Latin glorificus, from Latin gloria ‘glory.’

Yahushua has to be "more elevated" first by the Father so that the promised Helper in His name shall be given. (John 7:39)

(John 7:39 HRB)  But He said this concerning the Spirit, whom the ones believing into Him were about to receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Yahshua was not yet glorified.
Footnote: 1 Ezek. 36:26-27, Joel 2:28-32, Acts 1:4-8, Acts 2:4 & 33, Acts 10:44-47, Acts 11:15-16, Eph. 5:18.

Yahushua prayed "And now Father, glorify Me with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the existence of the world." (John 17:5 HRB)

I heard from some teachers say that the glory of the Father is really the Ruach HaKodesh. When I checked the meaning of the word "glory", it seems inadequate. And I remember this passage:

(Rom 11:33 The Scriptures 1998+)  Oh, the depth of riches, and wisdom and knowledge of Elohim! How unsearchable His judgments and untraceable His ways!
(Rom 11:34 The Scriptures 1998+)  “For who has known the mind of יהוה? Or who has become His counsellor?”  (Isa. 40:13)
(Rom 11:35 HRB)  "Or who first gave to Him, and it will be repaid to him?" (Job 41:11)
(Rom 11:36 YLT)  because of Him, and through Him, and to Him are the all things; to Him is the glory--to the ages. Amen.

My point is. When we begin to speculate the nature of our Father, with the words we knew, we will always come into limitations. And if we pressed on with what we have conceived of Him, we would begin to look up passages that conjures what we have conceived.

But if we hold on to the idea that no one can fathom the mind of YHWH (Isa 40:13, Rom 11:33,34,35,36, and Job 41:11) and "rightly dividing" the words of truth, we would be safer there, don't you see?

The Word "Another" Revisited

Some teachers also interpreted the word "another" to mean another manifestation of Yahushua in "another" form to offer comfort. And this "another" form is Yahushua in the Ruach.

I have quoted the definition of the word "another" in this study, please scroll up to where it is and check.

The first definition states "additional person or thing of the same type" which in this case would mean "of the same" *Ruach HaKodesh* OF the Father.

The second definition states "a different person or thing from one already mentioned or known about". Which in this case again would mean the *Ruach HaKodesh* OF the Father because it was already known to minister to man since the beginning.

However, Yahushua was also mentioned in the prophecies and was known by His disciples during His time. It could also very well mean to be Him in another form -- in the Ruach HaKodesh.

(John 14:16 The Scriptures 1998+)  “And I shall ask the Father, and He shall give you another Helper, to stay with you forever –
(John 14:17 The Scriptures 1998+)  the Spirit of the Truth, whom the world is unable to receive, because it does not see Him or know Him. But you know Him, for He stays with you and shall be in you.
(John 14:26 The Scriptures 1998+)  “But the Helper, the Set-apart Spirit, whom the Father shall send in My Name, He shall teach you all, and remind you of all that I said to you.

As we can see here, in both cases of the definition it agrees with the account of Yahushua: the "Comforter" or "Helper" is also known as the "Ruach of Truth" OF the Father, in the name of Yahushua.

Therefore, the "Comforter" or the "Helper" is the Ruach HaKodesh OF the Father, in the name of Yahushua. Is also the "Advocate". In other words, the "Comforter" and the "Advocate" are the same, and IT IS Yahushua Messiah in the Ruach HaKodesh OF the Father. And this has been possible after Yahushua Messiah was "more elevated" (glorified) by the Father.

And we will know that this is true when this happens to us, meaning -- when we experienced it, because Yahushua has already told us. That He and the Father will stay with us. That is both of them.

(John 14:23 The Scriptures 1998+)  ... and We shall come to him and make Our stay with him.

And now, Remember this message from Yahushua to confirm everything, and all teachings.

(John 17:2 The Scriptures 1998+)  as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give everlasting life to all whom You have given Him.
(John 17:3 The Scriptures 1998+)  “And this is everlasting life, that they should know You, the only true Elohim, and יהושע Messiah whom You have sent.

YHWH Bless you
